Denton Depot was established in 1987, and proudly is the original promotional product business in Denton, Texas.  In 2012, the company will celebrate 25 years in business.  The brand equity of Denton Depot is identified with customer service, fair pricing, and quality products. Denton Depot is a certified HUB Vendor and has maintained a Collegiate License since 1993. Over 80% of their business is repeat business. 

Tonya and Larry Parker bought this successful business in May 2008.  They have added a new energy since purchasing the company and feel most fortunate to have bought it. “Owning our own business is a great experience and joy”, they stated.

Both Tonya and Larry are proud native Texans.   Tonya was born in Brady, Texas, and was raised in San Saba, Texas.  She is a product of farming and ranching.  She worked with her family in the peanut industry growing peanuts, which required moving irrigation pipe and working the fields daily.  She also helped her family haul hay and feed their cattle.   She was a member of the San Saba FFA and raised show pigs for entry in the San Antonio and Houston Livestock shows.  She obtained a 2 year degree in business administration at Central Texas Community College in Brownwood, Texas.  

Larry was born in Abilene, Texas.  He also was raised around farming and ranching.  One side of his family was in the oil and gas business, which dominated West Texas.  If Larry wasn’t riding a horse, he was playing baseball.

Larry and Tonya feel their core values of hard work and a can-do attitude acquired from their families and the Texas heritage is a true treasure and mind set.

Larry has 43 years of experience in sales, marketing, and executive level positions that have blended in very well with the business.  Larry’s previous career was in the fashion shoe industry starting in 1968.  He started at the fitting stool in high school and worked his way up to president with several of the most successful shoe companies in the world, both retail and wholesale.   These positions afforded him travels across the country and world into offices of major retail store chains and factory owners.  


Tonya’s 25 year career path is a background of accounting and loan servicing which led her to hold manager and officer positions in both banking and auto finance.  Her last position before purchasing Denton Depot was as a vice-president of loan servicing.  Her career allowed her to travel and work with large banks, auto dealers, home improvement brokers and auto finance companies nationwide.  The organizational and management skill sets she acquired over the years have been a tremendous addition to the company.

As business owners, Larry and Tonya value community involvement. “We made a commitment when we bought the company, to give back and get involved in the Denton community which we call home”.   Larry serves on four boards and Tonya serves on two non-profit committees. 

Tonya is serving her second year on the Go Red for Women – American Heart Association – Denton Division committee.  This charitable organization helps raise money and awareness for healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and strokes.  Tonya is also in her second year as a member of the Denton Benefit League.  This organization raises funds for non-profit organizations and volunteers in the community.                                

Larry is serving his third term on the Denton Chamber of Commerce Executive Board, Denton Arts and Jazz Festival Board, and Denton 100 Club /Denton Police Board. He has served for three years on the Historic Denton Main Street Association and is going into his second term as president. He is also serving his second term as president of the Denton High Velocity BNI Business Networking Group.
